Who are Eagit?

Formed in 1967 it is East Anglia’s premier training organisation for the Industrial and Commercial sectors in engineering. EAGIT Ltd was awarded CoVE status for manufacturing in December and Beacon status in January 2006.

Our custom built workshop complex, on the Norwich Airport Estate, provides a wide range of training services to over 150 companies. With multi-level skills training which includes mechanical and electrical engineering, welding and fabrication, pneumatics and hydraulics, CNC, machining, fitting, milling and turning.

 

EAGIT also provides Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships. An Apprenticeship is one of the best ways to start a career in engineering for young people aged between 16 and 25. A nationally recognised Apprenticeship Certificate will be awarded by EMTA Awards Limited (EAL) providing that all elements of the programme have been completed satisfactorily.

                                                                             

How does EAGIT operate?  

EAGIT Limited works in close association with other agencies, including the Learning and Skills Council, City and Guilds, EMTA Awards Limited (EAL), and The Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies (SEMTA), JTL and ECITB, as well as schools and careers centres.

EAGIT specialises in vocational craft training leading to National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and City & Guilds qualifications.

Where is EAGIT?

EAGIT is located on Hurricane Way on the Norwich Airport Estate with reasonable access to public transport. The Airport is served by the Number 9A bus from the city.

Details of current times of trains and buses and a local taxi number will be found on the Training Centre Notice Board. Where difficulties of transport exist from areas in Fakenham, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, EAGIT may be able to assist.
