The Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2) test is a mandatory part of the Advanced Apprenticeship in the Electrical Installation framework and covers a range of installation, inspection & testing and fault diagnosis.  In industry terms, the test fulfils the requirements for a PPA—Practical Performance Assessment—as part of the NVQ 3.
  • We can offer:- 2 day refresher training prior to the AM2 test
  • 3 day AM2
  • Examination Re-sits on individual sections as appropriate

EAGIT’s electrical training instructors have put a great deal of effort into preparing the centre in time for inspection by NET (National Electrotechnical Training).  This inspection took place on Friday 12 December and EAGIT duly passed and have been given a start date of January 2009 for the centre to officially open for business.

With only 29 centres in the UK it is hoped that the new centre will help to ease long waiting list of people who need to do the test in order to progress in their careers.  The nearest centres able to carry out AM2 are currently in Peterborough and Chelmsford.

David Shorten, EAGIT’s CEO said, “We are absolutely delighted that we have been able to gain approval for this facility from NET who supervise the tests on a national basis. The AM2 test centre will compliment our existing services to learners and employers.”  The facility will provide a useful resource for other colleges and all of the electrical contractors in Norfolk and the surrounding area.  For any enquiries about AM2 training please visit our website at www.eagit.org.  The test may also be taken by an individual seeking accreditation of their practical experience. A successful outcome can contribute towards the evidence required for proof of competence.
